Adult 10 & CAEC

The Adult 10 program is for students who haven’t completed high school. Through this program you will have the opportunity to complete high school credits and improve your reading, writing, math and communication skills.

In addition to academic studies, you will also participate in a number of employment and life-skill lessons. Our staff and instructors know that sometimes life’s up and downs can get in the way of education. That is why we will meet you wherever you are at and work with you to create a career and learning plan that meets your needs.

  • English language requirement
  • Students must have an overall CLB 5 score

Looking to get and keep a job? You can build your employability skills through the Adult 10 program. This adult-focused program is flexible and designed to meet you at your current learning level and needs. 

The program focuses on giving you the knowledge and life-skills you need to get and keep a job. When you are ready, you will have the option to continue your education and complete your Grade 12.

What You Will Learn

Each location provides options from the following offerings:

ADULT 10
This program spends a lot of time giving you new ways to improve your life outside of school. Most importantly, it includes activities and certificates that improve your chances of getting and keeping a job. Graduating from this program means you might complete your GED, move into the Grade 12 program, apply to enter some post-secondary courses or get a job; the choice of is yours. 

Each location provides options from the following Adult 10 subject offerings:

  • Communications 10
  • Life/Work Studies 10
  • Mathematics 10
  • Science 10
  • Social Studies 10

CAEC (Canadian Adult Education Credential) 
CAEC is a high school equivalency credential that meets assessment industry standards as a replacement for the GED®. The CAEC program will help you to write the following 5 tests necessary to attain the credential:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Science

Graduating from this program means you might move into obtaining grade 12 credits, apply to enter post-secondary programs, get a job or find better employment opportunities.

GRADE 12/APPRENTICESHIP PREPARATION
We help prepare learners for their next steps, whether that’s continuing education or upgrading skills and building the confidence you need to get the job you want.

Scholarship Eligible

These are secondary programs and are not eligible for student loan consideration or Great Plains College scholarships. However, students may qualify for assistance through the Education and Training Incentive (ETI). More information can be found at saskatchewan.ca or by contacting a student adviser.
